The Davie County School System may make the decision to close early or cancel school when winter weather makes driving conditions hazardous. Decisions will be communicated to parents/guardians and students by 6:00 a.m. if at all possible. To communicate how inclement weather has affected our normal school operation, the Connect-ED notification system will announce, via telephone, schedule changes to all students and staff. In addition, announcements will be made on the local radio and television stations listed below and communicated through this website.

WFMY, Greensboro, Channel 2 TV
WTQR, Winston-Salem, 104.1 fm radio
WSJS, Winston-Salem, 600 or 1200 am radio

If no announcement is made, schools will operate on a normal schedule.
Weather conditions sometimes become unfavorable during the day after children have arrived at school. In the event we have to dismiss early, a Connect-ED message will be sent to all parents and local radio and TV stations will make the announcement. Working parents are advised to make arrangements for childcare on days when schools must be dismissed early.
PLEASE DO NOT CALL schools, the central administrative office, or the news media. We will communicate closings and early dismissals as quickly as possible. Our primary concern is the safety of children.

Favor de NO LLAMAR a la escuela ni a una maestra sino escucha o pide a los niños que escuchan la radio o la televisión para información. En la televisión ponen un letrero abajo en la pantalla. Si dice:
Davie County Schools Closed - No hay clases.
Davie County Schools Closed/Optional Teacher Workday - No hay clases.
2-Hour Delay - Las clases comienzan con un atraso de 2 horas
